The old Convent had become too big for the number of sisters and a decision was taken to sell it and to build a new house. Sister Arlette Troisfontaines and Ludo Jehaes who was helping her were confronted by many difficulties before being able to begin the construction.
During the Eucharistic Celebration on Saturday the 29th of October 2013 in the Parish Church of Saint Stephen, the new project was presented to parishioners, friends and families.
The eight sisters who are involved in this new apostolic community project are continuing to live out their mission as Sisters of Providence : « Witnessing to the love and goodness of the Father” and this in serving people in different parish instances.
The community also has a mission of welcome on the occasions when meetings are organised for the Sisters of Belgium and the Netherlands.
Sister Arlette Troisfontaines, who is responsible for this part of the Region and is at the service of the communities of Belgium and the Netherlands also has accommodation and an office for administration.in the building.
Open Days which took place on the 28th and 29th of September were extremely successful.
On Sunday the 30th of September the blessing of the house was performed by Father Louis Tobac, the Parish Priest, during a celebration of prayer in the presence of most of the sisters from Belgium and the Netherlands. This was followed by a party consisting of a cup of coffee and tart
